Trading attracts individuals with different natural trading abilities. Some people are natural-born traders. These Market Wizards (4% of traders) are natually fearless, competitive and report little emotion in trading. One hedge fund I consult with screens Ivy League athletes to fill trading desks, since they seek individuals who are smart, competitive, resilient and tough minded. Many turn out to be Wizards.

Others, like myself, have to work harder at trading in order to train themselves and to counteract innate tendencies that can and will be used against them by the Wizards. Kenneth Reid, Ph.D 

Breakeven Traders (32% of active traders) tend to be systematic individuals who have not yet fully defined their trading system and may have a few  psychological issues. They are very willing to follow their own rules, but may not have fully defined them yet.  

High Risk Traders (64% of active traders) are creative, intuitive, emotional, experiential and adventurous. I am personally in this group. We immerse ourselves into trading, but tend to get too involved in the drama of the market. We are therefore susceptible to emotional wounding from random rewards and aversive conditioning.
